800 meters northeast of the Kolpino station of the Oktyabrskaya Railway there is a karting track and a cordodrome of the state institution of St. Petersburg “Sports and fitness complex “Izhorets”.
The karting track was built by the Izhora plant and put into operation on September 29, 1991. In 1993, a cordodrome was built to host car racing competitions. Thus, a sports and technical complex (STC) was formed. In July 1998, the European Cordodrome Championship was held for which the cordodrome was thoroughly restored. Currently, the cordodrome remains one of the best tracks in Europe.
STK has repeatedly held competitions of various ranks: European Championships, International competitions "Grand Prix of Russia", Championships of Russia and St. Petersburg in automodel sports, stages of Championships, Championships and Cups of Russia, Championships of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, as well as other competitions in karting. Since 1991, the STC has trained 4 Masters of Sports of international class, 11 Masters of Sports, 31 candidates for Master of Sports and many advanced athletes. The club's teams have repeatedly taken prizes in competitions at various levels.
The Kolpino karting track covers an area of 2.5 hectares. The length of the route is 750 meters. Width – 6-10 meters. The track has a straight section 110 meters long and 6 turns of varying degrees of difficulty.
